Gold-plated metal lever filler with a Weidlich nib (Pen 2558)

Nib: Medium flex 14 Kt Weidlich

Sometimes you just don't know who made a pen. This is a very pretty gold-plated metal lever filler with a checkerboard pattern, probably from the 1910s or 20s. For its age, it's in remarkable shape, with a little brassing of the barrel end from posting the pen. The nib is a gold Weidlich nib, presumably 14 kt (not marked). Weidlich was a smallish Cincinnati pen company. What I can't tell is whether the pen was made by the same people as the nib. The nib is a medium with decent flexibility and line variation. A very striking pen. 5 3/8", 135 mm.
