Montblanc Writers Series LE: Dostoevsky - Unused (Pen 2574)
Nib: 18 Kt Medium
Montblanc began producing the Writers' Series of pens in 1992 with a tribute to Ernest Hemingway. The tribute to Fyodor Dostoevsky was the sixth in the series, in 1997. I bought this example because I think it's the prettiest of the Writers' Series, a handsome black with barrel chasing that matches the chasing on the cap bands, clip, and nib. There's a small blue jewel in the clip. The pen is a piston filler, and there's a transparent blue ink-view segment of the barrel. Because I bought the pen at auction, my knowledge of this specimen's history is limited, but it appears unused. It comes with the box and papers in excellent condition. I chose not to dip the pen for a writing sample as I usually do. 5 11/16", 146 mm.
