Sheaffer Targa - Brush steel with gold-colored highlights (Pen LT52)

Nib: 14 Kt Fint-to-Medium

This is a very clean Sheffer Targa in brushed steel with gold-colored highlights (cap, barrel end, clip). The nib is an inlaid 14 Kt that writes somewhere between a medium and a fine. It's very smooth. The nib ball is a bit asymmetrical, but the nib slit is absolutely straight and the pen writes very, very smoothly. Cartridge/converter with a piston-style converter installed. A Targa with a steel nib was what got me hooked on nice fountain pens in the late 1970s. 5 1/2", 138 mm.
